Preaching the word and living with integrity are the two main ambitions that God has called Wayne Mundell to in life. Wayne is the Lead Pastor at Monument Bible Church and is responsible for setting and developing the culture of the church through prayer, worship, preaching/teaching the Bible, vision-casting, leadership development and equipping the Body of Christ.
Wayne and his wife Linda, were born in Zimbabwe to immigrant parents. However due to political unrest they were forced to leave the country with their two boys, Scott and Travis, in 2000. They moved to Ireland and lived there for 9 years. It was a time of great spiritual growth for both Wayne and Linda. They arrived in Ireland virtually destitute and relied heavily on the promise of God in Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope”. True to His Word, God opened one door after another, and provided beyond all expectations. Wayne and Linda were very active in their church in Ireland, where Wayne served as an Elder and also a youth group leader.
In 2009, the Lord unexpectedly called Wayne to Frontier School of the Bible in LaGrange, Wyoming. Initially the family thought it would only be for one year, but it soon became evident that God was calling them to surrender everything they had established in Ireland, to pursue His purpose for their lives. The couple stepped out in faith and obedience; not knowing how the Lord would sustain them financially, but as usual God is ever faithful, and He did provide; oftentimes in miraculous ways. After four years of diligent study, Wayne graduated with a bachelors’ degree. No sooner had he graduated, than the Lord opened a door for him to accept the position of Lead Pastor at Monument Bible Church, where they had been attending since 2010.
When he isn’t busy being an incredibly involved Pastor, he is a strong family man at home and avid outdoors man, with a passion for all of God’s creation. Wayne is kind, personable, and is always finding the goodness of God around him. His passion and indebtedness to God is so evident in his life.
To quote Wayne “without a shadow of doubt; this is God’s calling on my life, and I am deeply humbled that He would consider me to lead His flock. I pray He will always find me faithful, and I will persevere and do my utmost to finish well, for the Glory of His Name.”
